We want: Imagery, language used in powerful and surprising ways, a careful
interplay of sound and meaning.

others: Neruda, Piercy, Atwood, Roethke, Hass, Rilke, Sexton,
Hecht, Bedient, etc.]
We do not want: first drafts, prose with line breaks, free-form gabble,
obtrusive rhymes.
Read the poems already published before submitting.
Note new guideline: For each issue, interim deadlines are now
September 15, December 15, March 15, June 15. Response is within 6 months
after each deadline.

Paste poem as simple text - no fancy fonts or formatting - into body of
message, 1 poem/email with subject of SUB1, SUB2, etc (it is helpful if you
indicate the total number of poems you are submitting, ie 1 of 3).
No more than 5 poems by email.
Do not send attached files.
[Note re: email submissions: we gladly accept email submissions
as sympathizers to the postage burden, but expect poets to take the same care
as they do with postal submissions.]

Published annually, 20-40 pages, digest-sized,
perfect-bound, cardstock cover with photo, 200 press run.
Previously published poems, no. Simultaneous submissions, yes, with notice.
Submissions are read all year, response is given within 6 months of submission deadlines, time between
acceptance and publication is up to a year, pays 2 contributor's copies, acquires first rights.
I am also seeking submissions of photos or artwork for cover consideration - B&W, no
